I was up in Seattle this past weekend interviewing Alan Marlatt of the University of Washington. Dr. Marlatt is one of the leading researchers in the field of mindfulness-based addiction interventions, and was kind enough to give me an hour or two of his time to talk about the work he’s been doing on relapse prevention. Watch this space for an upcoming blog about what he had to say.
While we met he told me about Dr. Richard Field‘s FACES conferences, which are devoted to providing CE for mental health and addiction professionals on the topic of mindfulness as it pertains to their clinical practices.
The second annual FACES conference will be taking place in late March in San Diego, CA with another conference in Boulder, CO in July. The keynotes for both conferences will be provided by Daniel Siegel, who will speak about neurobiology and the science of mindfulness.
